Tandem Cycling

£5 for back riders

Come join in the fun with our countryside Tandem Clubs - every Wednesday and Thursday evening between 6pm - 9pm. We have volunteer cyclists on the front and people with learning disabilities, autism or sight impairments on the back. Everyone is there for the love of cycling, it is a fun way to keep fit and we have a pub stop afterwards to catch up with friends.

Open Country

Open Country is the Yorkshire charity set up to enable anyone with a disability or mental health condition to access and enjoy the countryside. We do this through a range of activity groups, as well as advice, information and training. In Wakefield we have a base at Thornes Park and with the provision of two fully adapted minibuses and volunteer support, we go out throughout the week, evenings and weekends. Our groups include the Nature Force group, Wildlife Walking group, Adapted Cycling Club, Weekend Outings Club and Adventure Club.
