Outside In is delighted to be partnering with the Mental Health Museum in Wakefield to deliver a free ten session Exploring Collections course beginning in September.
The course is part of a wider project funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund, which focuses on discovering, exploring and providing new perspectives on patient created art work.
The course will equip artists with skills in research, exploration and interpretation, and participants will be encouraged to creatively respond to works in the museum's collection in a safe and supportive environment.
We are now inviting artists to apply who meet Outside In's criteria (face a barrier to the art world for reasons including health, disability, social circumstance or isolation) and are based in the Wakefield area.
The course will take place every Tuesday for ten weeks beginning on 14 September 2021 - sessions will be a mixture of online and on site at the museum.
The deadline for applications is 9am, Monday 19 July 2021.
