Discuss and explore a range of textile crafts in this friendly course. We will work practically and experimentally with processes, materials and techniques and explore the links between textiles and art. You will have the opportunity to suggest and select practical projects collaboratively with your group - these may include fabric printing, fabric surface manipulation, layering, weaving, dyeing, silk painting, rag rugging, felting, crochet or embroidery. We will discuss selected creative practitioners who use and adapt these techniques for inspiration. There will also be a chance to combine techniques and work on an independent, textile project.
