Open Country

Open Country is the Yorkshire charity set up to enable anyone with a disability or mental health condition to access and enjoy the countryside. We do this through a range of activity groups, as well as advice, information and training. In Wakefield we have a base at Thornes Park and with the provision of two fully adapted minibuses and volunteer support, we go out throughout the week, evenings and weekends. Our groups include the Nature Force group, Wildlife Walking group, Adapted Cycling Club, Weekend Outings Club and Adventure Club.
