Anyone struggling because of their deafness that needs support.

We loan Equipment to improve access to your home e.g. flashing doorbell to alert you to callers to your door, loop system to help you hear the television. Telephone demonstrations to help you chose one that you can hear and much more.

We also provide advocacy support to access services e.g. requesting BSL interpreters, booking interpreters, mail translation, utility issues and much more.

Wakefield & District Society for Deaf People

The Society provides a range of support services, which includes provision of equipment, communication to access services, mail translations, assisted telephone calls, advocacy, a social and sport club, “ICan Workshops” We also facilitate a Deaf Led User group to ensure that deaf people’s views and concerns are addressed by service providers and to participate more effectively in planning of services.
